We hear a lot of frustrations about swim club websites…
It’s too difficult to update.
We don’t have anyone to run it.
Its content is out of date.
People can’t find what they are looking for.
Facebook is good but doesn’t do everything we need.
We’ve been creating and operating websites for swim clubs, districts and others for 6 years now; so we like to think we have relevant experience!
Know who your site is for
Many commercial websites are designed for sales and marketing purposes. They often contain vibrant photography and information to attract new business. Whilst swim club websites need to attract new members, their role in serving their existing community is equally important.
We recommend that clubs use a more traditional newsletter format for their website. The most popular content is calendar/events, news and club records. The best way to build your audience is via photos and event blogs.
Fit into your users’ lives
55% of visitors are now accessing sites via mobile phones and tablets. Your content must display clearly on those devices. A club Facebook page is a great way of staying front of mind with your audience, but it cannot host everything about your club, and its search function is limiting.
Here is a great example
Very easy to update and navigate for members and enquirers.
It’s no longer difficult or expensive to do the same
Because swimming clubs are powered by volunteers with limited time and money, we have created a simple yet powerful website for under $1,000.
