Swim.Rocks podcast – for volunteers who stay dry!

Summary for podcast guests

This podcast is for the swimming community around the pool – parents, volunteers, coaches, administrators and officials.

Through sharing information, ideas and inspiration we aim to strengthen the community by encouraging more people to get involved, or more deeply.

The host, Ben Ramsden, is an active swimming volunteer who also has swimming related commercial clients. His ambition for the podcast is to foster a collaboration and innovation community within swimming.

We launched in April 2018 and in April 2020 swim coach, former swimmer and media frontman Lachlan Vane-Tempest joined the team as co-host and community manager.

Format

The podcast is an audio recording made available to listeners via their smart phone or direct from this website. Interviews are conducted face to face or online and are edited prior to release.

What to expect

Allow 45-60 mins for the interview appointment, of which about half will be spent recording. Ben will brief you about the subjects ahead of the interview. Best results are usually achieved with limited or no preparation and instinctive answers. It’s a very relaxed conversation, and anything that doesn’t come out right can be removed prior to release.

Online interviews are conducted via Zoom. Best results are achieved by connecting via a standard web browser using smartphone earbuds and microphone. Alternatively you can dial in to a standard phone number from a mobile or landline phone.

What’s in it for you?

You are speaking to an audience of highly committed swimming people. This is your opportunity to influence, inform and have fun! Our audience is always growing, when we last checked we had well over 30,000 episode downloads, and a regular audience of several hundred people.

Guests with commercial interests in swimming are encouraged to be helpful to the audience as a route to gaining credibility and trust. There will be an opportunity to promote your own service if you have one. We will share your service via our social media channels if you wish.
